For the past several days, I’ve been experiencing some odd, though not necessarily new, pains in various parts of my body. It’s a sort of “zinging” pain, something akin to an electric shooting, a vibrating pulsation. I feel it across my shoulders, in the base of my neck, my elbows. It’s accompanied by an iron-like taste somewhere in the recesses of my mouth, like I’ve just put my tongue to a 9-volt battery or something.
I get these sensations every once in awhile, but I’m not sure about the cause. It’s usually after I’ve lifted heavy for more days in a month than usual, or when I’ve really done a number on my back muscles. I’m not sure whether it might be a buildup of lactic acid, or what’s going on. I probably need to hunker down and really do a good stretching session; it may not surprise anyone that I hate stretching. Yoga? Forget it.
I don’t know how to describe this sensation except to say that I know I’m “out of whack” and that there’s “something” going on. I can feel it in my nerves, like the endings are all exposed. I’ve scheduled a massage for the end of the week… maybe that will help.
Day 86.
