Day 397: Life

We had a really wonderful weekend. My husband and I were supposed to go out of town for a concert, but it was cancelled at the last minute, so we stayed at home with nothing to do and a family member in town to watch our kids. The kids’ sports were all cancelled due to rain, so we had a totally free weekend. We got to spend time together, play with the kids, cook out, make S’mores by the fire, clean the garage, go to dinner… it was absolutely perfect.

I’m reminded that I have a body that allows me to do all of these things. That body is a certain size in large part because that is the size that allows me to do life–to eat S’mores with my kids and go out for 10-course meals with my husband. This weekend, while I worked out as well, I was mostly just grateful that I am healthy and able to be fully present for my life, which is pretty freaking amazing much of the time.
